King David

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.

Psalm 23

  • O Senhor é meu pastor: nada me falta.
  • Leva-me a descansar em verdes prados, conduz-me às águas refrescantes e reconforta a minha alma.
  • Para mim preparais a mesa à vista dos meus adversários;
  • Com óleo me perfumais a cabeça, e o meu cálice transborda.

famously obscure poet Jeremy Prynne

"More than 90 years ago, Ezra Pound noted: “We no longer think or need to think in terms of monolinear logic, the sentence structure, subject, predicate, object etc. We are as capable or almost as capable as the biologist of thinking thoughts that join like spokes in a wheel-hub and that fuse in hyper-geometric amalgams.”

from 'Pearls That Were', JH Prynne

Shine ahead, cold star
like music on the water
in the wake of remission
from near, from far.

Take beauty’s injunction
as pledge for the chain
that binds up the open scatter
sprinkled in chill rain.
None so costly, none so clear
accepted on account
of pliant, client deception
to tarnish a fear.

And rise up to vocal induration,
lulled into fresh calm
by motionless, undistracted
insult to charm.

Es Lebe Der Koenig, JH Prynne

Fire and honey oozes from cracks in the earth;
the cloud eases up the Richter scale. Sky divides
as the flag once more becomes technical, the print
divides also: startlight becomes negative. If you
are born to peaks in the wire, purple layers in the
glass format, re-enter the small house with
animals too delicate and cruel. Their throats fur
with human warmth, we too are numbered like
prints in the new snow.

N’écris pas. Je te crains : j’ai peur de ma mémoire ;

Il semble que ta voix les répand sur mon cœur ;
Que je les voix brûler à travers ton sourire ;

Touch Me

Touch Me

Summer is late, my heart.
Words plucked out of the air
some forty years ago
when I was wild with love
and torn almost in two
scatter like leaves this night
of whistling wind and rain.
It is my heart that's late,
it is my song that's flown.
Outdoors all afternoon
under a gunmetal sky
staking my garden down,
I kneeled to the crickets trilling
underfoot as if about
to burst from their crusty shells;
and like a child again
marveled to hear so clear
and brave a music pour
from such a small machine.
What makes the engine go?
Desire, desire, desire.
The longing for the dance
stirs in the buried life.
One season only,
and it's done.
So let the battered old willow
thrash against the windowpanes
and the house timbers creak.
Darling, do you remember
the man you married? Touch me,
remind me who I am.

O arame (andar no)

Num mundo onde a velocidade da luz
não constituísse um limite
o bem e o mal seriam absolutos.
capazes do melhor e do pior
precisamos do tempo para nos redimir
ou danar para sempre.

*

o meu avô pelas tardes à sombra do salgueiro,

Drawbridge

Drawbridge mentality

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Drawbridge mentality describes the attitude of those people who migrate to more exclusive or more "unspoiled" communities and thereafter campaign to preserve the tranquility of that community by opposing further inward migration by people or businesses and, possibly, any development or refurbishment, including plans put forward by those already located there.
The term can imply a selfish attitude and can be taken as an insult by people who have strong affection for their home locality and wish to protect it from any changes. It is closely related to the NIMBY attitude.[1]
A drawbridge was historically the hinged bridge at a castle's gates providing entry across a defensive moat for those occupying the castle. Raising the drawbridge to a vertical position was therefore one means by which intruders could be shut out of the castle.

in Livro do Desassossego

Depois dos grandes calores,
dos fogos devastadores
restam-nos manifestações extremas,
encostas desoladas por onde escorrem
enxurradas de lágrimas.

Tudo renasce, tudo se reconstrói
sempre algo se perde.

America

Travancinha

Let Evening Come

Jane Kenyon: Let Evening Come
Let the light of late afternoon
shine through chinks in the barn, moving
up the bales as the sun moves down.
Let the cricket take up chafing
as a woman takes up her needles
and her yarn. Let evening come.
Let dew collect on the hoe abandoned
in long grass. Let the stars appear
and the moon disclose her silver horn.
Let the fox go back to its sandy den.
Let the wind die down. Let the shed
go black inside. Let evening come.
To the bottle in the ditch, to the scoop
in the oats, to air in the lung
let evening come.
Let it come, as it will, and don’t
be afraid. God does not leave us
comfortless, so let evening come.

leitor?
Eu leio de tudo. Interesso-me por tudo.Não só por
literatura. Revistas, jornais, artigos de opinião,
História. Livros de não-ficção, gosto muito. Fico
Aobsessão actual é a botânica.Ainda ontem estive
e as árvores.
Posso precisar. "

O velho MEC de todos nós...

sonho

O pensador alemão Christoph Türcke

"A vida é sonho?
Seria bonito.

................................................

Este senhor Salazar
É feito de sal e azar.
Se um dia chove,
Água dissolve
O sal,
E sob o céu
Fica só azar, é natural.
Oh, c’os diabos!
Parece que já choveu...

......................................................

Coitadinho
Do tiraninho!
Não bebe vinho.
Nem sequer sozinho...
Bebe a verdade
E a liberdade.
E com tal agrado
Que já começam
A escassear no mercado.

Coitadinho
Do tiraninho!
O meu vizinho
Está na Guiné
E o meu padrinho
No Limoeiro
Aqui ao pé.
Mas ninguém sabe porquê.

Mas afinal é
Certo e certeiro
Que isto consola
E nos dá fé.
Que o coitadinho
Do tiraninho
Não bebe vinho,
Nem até
Café.
